La memoire est un jeu d’enfant è un progetto che racconta il rapporto tra padre e figlia. Riflette anche sul senso stesso della memoria e di come, di generazione in generazione, questa cambi prospettiva. Dei monumenti secolari vengono percepiti in due modi diversi e si fondono nella stessa realizzazione visiva, le foto mie e i colori di mia figlia Adele. La memoria e l’iconografia del passato diventano un gioco tra padre e figlia, ma pregno di concetti e importante per saper leggere il presente e, in qualche modo, prevedere il futuro.
Adele ha riempito di colore le immagini, usando tecniche diverse e seguendo quell’istinto che Arno Stern chiamava formulazione: quell’incontro tra il dentro e il fuori che si realizza quando il bambino disegna liberamente, traccia un segno privo di preconcetti. Nel tempo, ho cercato sempre di raccontare a mia figlia i miti greci e la storia antica che fa parte del mio percorso artistico e dei miei interessi personali, ho cercato di trasmetterle i valori per la memoria e per i fatti del passato e questa è la prima volta che le nostre pratiche si intrecciano concretamente. Ne risulta una ricerca a quattro mani, opere uniche che nascono da una confluenza di passioni e di interessi.
La mémoire est un jeu d’enfant is a project that tells the story of the relationship between father and daughter. It also reflects on the very concept of memory and how, from generation to generation, it changes perspective. Centuries-old monuments are perceived in two different ways and merge into the same visual realization: my photographs and the colors of my daughter Adele. Memory and the iconography of the past become a game between father and daughter, yet one filled with concepts, important for understanding the present and, in some way, predicting the future.
Adele filled the images with color, using different techniques and following that instinct that Arno Stern called "formulation": the meeting between the inner and the outer, which happens when a child draws freely, creating a mark free of preconceived notions. Over time, I have always tried to tell my daughter about Greek myths and ancient history, which are part of my artistic journey and personal interests. I have tried to pass on the values of memory and the events of the past, and this is the first time our practices have concretely intertwined. The result is a collaborative search, unique works that arise from a convergence of passions and interests.
