Firaq è una parola araba che significa separazione, il progetto si concentra sul racconto della condizione di chi abbandona tutto per cercare una vita migliore. Lo sradicamento di una persona dalla propria terra viene rappresentato metaforicamente dalla pianta e dalle sue radici. Il viaggio del migrante è accostato al viaggio di Ulisse, le piante sono state scelte da persone che sono scappate forzatamente dalle regioni mediorientali, ma allo stesso tempo sono citate da Omero nell’Odissea. Questo parallelismo tra il viaggio di Ulisse e del migrante è il nodo focale del progetto artistico che nel video trova la sua conclusione, con il “nostos”, il ritorno a Itaca delle piante e l’uso della simbologia omerica per ribadire il ritorno a casa e la fine del viaggio. Le stampe sono state rotte e ricucite, per evidenziare la ferita e la cicatrice di un viaggio lungo e pericoloso che si delinea sulla pelle di Ulisse e del migrante ed è illuminata dall’oro all'interno della cornice, perché come cantava Leonard Cohen “C'è una crepa in ogni cosa ed è da lì che entra la luce”.

The uprooting of a person from his land is metaphorically represented by the plant and its roots. The journey of the migrant is compared to the journey of Ulysses, the plants were chosen by people who forcibly fled the Middle Eastern regions, but at the same time they are mentioned by Homer in the Odyssey. This parallelism between the journey of Ulysses and the migrant is the focal point of the artistic project which finds its conclusion in the video, with the "nostos", the return of plants to Ithaca and the use of Homeric symbolism to reaffirm the return home and the end of the journey. The prints have been broken and stitched together, to highlight the wound and scar of a long and dangerous journey that emerges on the skin of Ulysses and the migrant and is illuminated by the gold inside the frame, because as Leonard Cohen sang "There is a Crack in Everything. That’s How the Light Gets In”.
